Movement
Movement & Dance teaches campers to express themselves through joyful movement. Guided by music and imagination, students learn basic movement & dance vocabulary and explore motion through physical activity, fitness, and coordination. Basic exercise, dance, yoga, stretching, and more will offer campers a variety of examples to keep moving their bodies. Classes are active, engaging, and inclusive—no prior dance experience required!
Music
Immersing campers into the world of sound, Music classes will provide opportunities for campers to participate in creating original songs, sounds, and compositions. Activities are playful and collaborative, helping students build musical confidence and listening skills. Through learning simple songs, being introduced to instruments, and experimenting with original compositions, every child finds their voice.
Theater & Creative Writing
Theater and Creative Writing provides a unique opportunity for campers to explore their artistic talents and develop valuable skills in both performance and written expression. A blend of theatrical activities, including acting, improv, and playwrighting, along with creative writing focuses like fiction, poetry, and screenwriting, will be explored. Campers will engage in a variety of activities that foster creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking.
Visual Arts
Campers will explore and develop their artistic skills in various media, including drawing, painting, sculpting, collaging, printmaking, digital art, and more. Campers learn art techniques while developing their unique visual language. Each project is designed to inspire curiosity, confidence, and personal expression, empowering campers to develop their artistic vision and style.
ABOUT SUMMER FAIR
WELCOME TO SUMMER FAIR 2025!
After a four-year hiatus, Summer FAIR is back and more inspired than ever. This beloved arts camp—hosted by Fine Arts in Rockbridge (FAIR)—has been a community staple for over four decades.
Designed as a school of the arts, SUMMER FAIR is dedicated to providing a quality fine arts education and inspiring a spirit of creativity for students from rising 1st graders through high school.
This August, we are revitalizing this program for one week of workshop-style classes. Classes meet daily, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am to 1 pm for one week, providing participants with the time, resources, and direction needed to achieve a sense of fulfillment in each of the disciplines.
To make the program accessible to all who want to participate, FAIR provides partial financial aid. Please call for a scholarship form. Scholarship is granted based on financial need and dedication to the arts.
